Almost everyone tells me the same thing before a session: "I have no idea what to do with my hands." That feeling is completely normal — and it disappears faster than you think.

Why photoshoots can feel uncomfortable

A camera pointed at you creates pressure to perform. The trick is that my job is not to make you perform — it is to catch you being yourself between the "official" moments.

Trust your photographer

A good session starts with a conversation, not a shutter click. We talk, we walk, we try things. The first fifty frames are a warm-up and we both know it.

Focus on movement, not poses

Static poses feel unnatural because they are. Walking, turning, fixing your hair, laughing at a bad joke — movement gives the camera life to work with.

Take breaks and breathe

If something feels stiff, we stop, reset and laugh it off. There is no clock ticking.

Enjoy the process

The best photos in every gallery are the ones taken when the person forgot the camera was there. Getting you to that point is my favourite part of the job.
